Since I’m starting to write my scifi and haven’t built up a scifi audience yet, I jumped at the chance to be included in the Dominion Rising boxset coming out this summer. I hope we get a lot of sales, but I also want to make sure I provide value to each of the authors included – which I’ll be doing with lots of links from my sites (which have a really high domain authority).
Something different about this boxset, is that we’ll be offering a monthly giveaway for authors who agree to share Dominion Rising with their list. Authors can win cool prizes and massive newsletter features. I’ve included some prizes to sweeten the pot. ALL authors who share Dominion Rising will get featured in a post-launch thankyou page (lots of valuable backlinks to your author website).
I don’t normally promote or share my fiction stuff with my non-fiction audience (because you want real readers buying your books, not other authors), but it makes a LOT of sense to incentivize scifi and fantasy authors into sharing books with their audience to win free book promotion or author services. I may continue to do this with my own books later, but on my own I couldn’t put together something as awesome as a 300K email list blast (that’s how many readers are on our collective email lists).
